Comparative Religions Vicar Mark Wuggazer |
It is
not enough that we should just study other religions. In fact, there are only
two reasons to study a religion other than Christianity. #1 – out of sheer curiosity or hobby, in
which case you don’t need a class at church any more than you would need one
on gardening. #2 – To use such a study
as a vehicle for understanding our own faith better. To this end, we will not be content to just
study other religions in this series, but to take time as well to dig into
the depths of our beliefs as Christians and as Lutherans. |
|
Staff |
Join us for a class on what we as Lutherans believe, and
how our worship reflects it. An entry point for those seeking membership here
at Redeemer, it is also a great review for all. Classes run for 6-weeks,
Babysitting provided. Following this 6 week study we’ll have a New Member
Orientation on November 2 (Fall) and March 15 (Winter),
inviting you to join us in any number of ministry areas here at Redeemer. A
celebration brunch and formal welcome will be held the following week. |

Men’s Bible Study Gary Priskorn |
Men of Redeemer and guests gather each Wednesday morning
for study, fellowship, encouragement and prayer over a light breakfast
(cold/hot cereal, muffins, juice, coffee). Bible study varies between a
verse-by-verse study and topical study of a book of the Bible. |
|
Positive Parenting Gary Priskorn |
The purpose of this learning and discussion class that
meets throughout the year is to share biblical perspectives on raising
children. A variety of books, videos
and other materials are used in this class, which is ideal for parents of
younger children. Parents

COMMUNITY Bible Study Rosemary Ging |
The Gospel of John has been called
the most "theologically astute"
of the four Gospels. In this Gospel Jesus' dearly loved disciple clearly
presents the grace of God as revealed in His Son, Jesus. And by God's
grace, the Gospel of John shows us how Christ overcame sin, death and
hell to give us new life, righteousness and salvation. As John interprets the
person and function of Jesus through His miracles, we come to have a clear
understanding of the purpose for which the Gospel was written: "But these are written that you may believe that
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life
in His Name." (John 20:31) Class format: large group
instruction followed by small group discussion. |

Christmas Continues Joanna Newman |
A
two-week perfectly-timed study on Christmas. What really happened in
Bethlehem 2000 years ago? Who were the Magi? What does a Christmas tree have
to do with it? |
|
Beating Busyness Joanna Newman |
Why am I
so busy? How do I set priorities Biblically? Do people still discern God’s
voice? How might a personal mission statement help? Abiding in Christ, one
day at a time. |

Hanukkah
|
What does
Hanukkah have to do with Christmas?
Why does the date always fall around Christmas? Should we as Christians celebrate this
traditional Jewish festival?, Did our Jewish Savior
celebrate Hanukkah? What is the
Menorah? Why eight candles? Why are two women and their stories
remembered and celebrated during the time of Hanukkah? Why Latkes and jelly doughnuts? What’s the Dreidel for? This
traditional holiday is spoken about in the books of 1 and 2 Maccabees, but what are these books and why aren’t they in the Bible? Finally how do
you spell Hanukkah? Happy Chanuka, Chanukah, Chanukkah, Channukah, Hanukah, Hannukah,

Solomon: The Wise Fool Pastor Randy |
Solomon
is the man that had a great beginning, but his ending was far from
great. No man began with more promise
than Solomon, the
wise man drifted and finally defected as many do today. In our biographical study we will observe
this erosion process in action, and will discover just how foolish this wise
man became. His life story will become
our life lesson, with straight talk about temptation, sensuality, defiance,
and cynicism. Sessions- 1: Background of Solomon. 2:
The Success of Solomon. 3: The Erosion of Solomon. 4: The
Heart of Solomon Turns Away From God. 5: God Deals with Solomon’s |

The Wonder of Worship Pastor Cary Richert |
Based on
the video series Liturgy: Yesterday,
Today, Tomorrow, this class will help participants understand the
blessings of our Lutheran worship service.
It will explore the history of Lutheran worship, as well as the
meaning of each aspect of worship included in our service. Most of all it will help participants see
clearly the gracious hand of God at work in worship, giving His gifts of
grace to worshipers, who receive them thankfully in faith. |

Moore’s Stepping Up: A
Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent Joanna Newman |
Beth Moore's study, Stepping Up: A
Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent, is an in-depth look
at 15 Psalms. Just as a song or poem can express feelings of fear, doubt,
hope, and joy, these 15 psalms model how study participants can voice their
own petitions and praises to our God, who is always available and ready to
hear us. Explore the major feasts of |

Ecclesiastes:
Enjoying God’s Gifts Gary Priskorn |
A wealth of divine wisdom for
daily living is found in Ecclesiastes. This study will show us what God,
through Solomon, teaches us about: ~ worship and wisdom ~ viewing and living life in a sinful world ~ dealing with the good and the bad in life ~ God’s abundant grace and mercy demonstrated in
the person and life of Jesus ~ enjoying our earthly life and using the gifts
God has given to His glory |

Growing Deeper with God Joanna Newman |
Many
Christians talk about their “personal relationship” with God. For many of us,
however, the “personal” part of that relationship seems to be missing. We
want to know God in a deeply personal, intimate way, but that’s not what we
experience. How can we develop intimacy with God? This Discipleship Journal study shares the importance of a deeply
personal, intimate walk with God.
We’re all walking together here—join us for the journey? |

Promises, Promises Pastor Richert |
The Lord
is a promise maker and a promise keeper.
The Bible is the written record of God’s promise making and promise
keeping. The Christian’s life of faith
is lived trusting in God’s promises, which all find their “yes” and “amen” in
Jesus Christ. In our consumer-oriented
society, God’s promises are often obscured by promises of an easy life filled
with material abundance, good health, and self-centered peace. But the spiritual life is lived in, with,
and under God’s promises. It is lived
outside of one’s self – in Christ by faith and in the neighbor by love. This study will explore God’s promises for
us with a particular emphasis on how these play out and impact our daily
lives of prayer and vocation. Sessions: 1
- God Keeps His Promises, 2 - The
Promise of Baptism, 3 -The Promise
of Absolution, 4 -The Promise of the Lord’s Supper, 5 -
The Promise of Life |
